Vida and Bane are a married couple who have been living in Scandinavia for a long time. They have successful careers, enough money for a decent life and a dog, but they do not have children.

The story is about love, choices in life where to live, loneliness, living in a foreign country and commitment to live in one place with same person.
Word AJVAR originates in the traditional Serbian cuisine and is type of relish made most commonly from red bell peppers. It has been known also as ‘Serbian vegetable caviar’.

In the movie AJVAR is a metaphor for Serbian people who live in a foreign country and when they visit Serbia, they take a jar of AJVAR with them to their overseas home.

“Ajvar”, jedan od najnovijih filmova srpske produkcije, imao je izrazito uspešnu svetsku premijeru pre četitri meseca na festivalu evropskog filma na Paliću.

Urbana ljubavna drama o bračnom paru koji već duže vreme živi u Švedskoj, o sredovočnim ljudima koji imaju uspešne karijere, dovoljno novca za pristojan život ali nemaju decu. Oni za praznike dolaze u Srbiju i tu se suočavaju sa nizom problema koji već dugo opterećuju njihov brak. Njega i nju sjajno igraju poznati glumci Sergej Triunović i Nataša Ninković.
Rediteljka Ana Maria Rossi o filmu kaže:

„Ovo je priča o rastanku, nečem tako univerzalnom, a uvek ličnom. To je generacijska priča ljudi mojih godina, a to su četrdesete, onih što su zakačili i najbolje i najgore iz naše recentne istorije. “Ajvar” je pre svega priča o ljubavi, o izborima, o udaljavanju, o otuđenju, o iseljenju.”

Film je snimljen na lokacijama u Beogradu, Štokholmu i Užicu.
